Bergen City Bike

The City Bike is an easy way to get around the city, and a good alternative to bus/lightrail. You need to download and app that will tell you where you will find available bikes. There is a Bike-station in the park across from VilVite. Read more here

We aim to make the experience at VilVite the best possible for all our guests, including those who require extra accommodations. Please inquire at the reception upon arrival, and we will assist you as best we can!

Mobility in the exhibition

Our exhibition is equipped with many stools, benches, and stools, so if you need to rest your legs, there are plenty of seating options in the exhibition. These are also easy to move around if needed. We also have wheelchairs available for loan for those who need them. VilVite is well adapted for those who use wheelchairs or require good accessibility.

Limited vision

Most of the objects in the museum are tactically accessible. It is recommended to have a sighted companion in the exhibitions. It is possible to inquire about available "knowledge hosts" who can accompany you on a small tour. Guide dogs are welcome at VilVite, and magnifying glasses are available for loan at the reception.

Sound sensitivity

Some areas can be busy and noisy, especially the entrance/foyer and the areas around the Centrifuge. There are quieter areas at VilVite, ask us at the reception when you arrive or ask a "knowledge host" inside the exhibition. You can also choose to come on days and times when there is less noise. Weekdays during the school year are usually quiet after 1 pm. Tuesdays are the quietest day. On weekends, it is less busy after 3 pm and before 12 pm. Otherwise, sunny days are often quiet and calm days for us. Feel free to call us ahead of your visit to inquire about the number of guests here that day! We also have earplugs and hearing protection available for loan at the reception.

Companion

Companions enter for free upon presentation of a valid companion card. The person being accompanied pays the regular entrance fee. The companion must be 16 years old or older.

Equipment for loan:
  • Wheelchair
  • Magnifying glass
  • Earplugs and hearing protection

It is allowed to breastfeed or bottle-feed children throughout VilVite, and we have a small sofa corner available if you need some more peace. Changing tables are available in the accessible toilets near the cloakrooms at the reception and on the ground floor of VilVite.

Strollers can be brought into the entire exhibition. We also have designated stroller parking next to the breastfeeding corner if you wish to leave it there.
