In this package, you get two types of sand, 500g of each.

Kinetic sand is a sand that moves easily, and it behaves this way because it is infused with silicone oil. The oil prevents the sand from crumbling or making a mess. Notice how the sand grains stick to each other but not to other surfaces? The sand also stays moist and does not dry out.

Magic sand is, of course, not truly magical, but it is still very special. It doesn't mix with water. In fact, the sand is what we call hydrophobic, meaning it repels water. This is due to the addition of hydrophobic substances that dislike water, much like oil. Regardless of how much you stir, you cannot mix oil with water. Pour the sand into a glass of water and observe what happens.
