Rose quartz is a beautiful, pink variety of quartz known for its delicate color and glassy luster. It has been used for thousands of years to make jewelry and ornaments. The nice color comes from small amounts of special minerals found inside the stone. The mineral consists of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), which also forms the basis for many other types of quartz. Rose quartz is found in large quantities in Brazil, Madagascar, India and South Africa.
